Comparative Techno-Economic Analysis for Emerging CDR Technologies - This project will enhance the carbon dioxide removal (CDR) landscape by enabling policymakers, investors, and other stakeholders to assess the potential of various CDR technologies.

This team will develop a software tool to conduct techno-economic analyses of emerging nature-based CDR technologies, including biomass carbon removal and storage, enhanced rock weathering, and bioenergy carbon capture and storage. The software tool will assess these technologies with respect to scalability, duration of storage, life cycle cost per ton sequestered, and the ease of MRV. We will develop an aggregate score for each technology and determine how these scores correlate with market value. This project has the potential to optimize investment and implementation for nature-based CDR technologies.
