Decentralized AI-enabled water coordination platform

Water shortages threaten communities across the U.S. and abroad, with the United Nations warning that the world now faces a state of “water bankruptcy.” In many water-stressed agricultural regions, poor communication isolates the critical data farmers need to adapt, such as information on infrastructure improvements, regulatory decisions, and other key factors. This project brought together groundwater sustainability agencies and pistachio growers in California’s Central Valley to develop a collaborative platform powered by artificial intelligence that helps farmers proactively adapt to water scarcity while maintaining economic viability.
