Ocean data commons: Making coastal and ocean data insights accessible

Ocean data is often inaccessible, leading to poor decision making regarding ocean and coastal health. The Ocean Data Commons project proposes an open platform that integrates ocean, climate, and health data using the Google Data Commons. This user-friendly tool allows decision makers to visualize and assess the impact of environmental changes on coastal communities. By improving data accessibility, the platform will enhance coastal management, helping municipalities address climate risks like extreme weather and harmful algal blooms, ultimately building resilience for ecosystems and dependent communities while advancing the knowledge of climate risks and adaptation options in the land-sea interface.
