Stream gauges for safe and equitable freshwater

Current river flow monitoring systems are costly, prone to failure, and lack functionality, limiting effective water management and climate adaptation efforts. This project proposes a low-cost Doppler LiDAR system for real-time river flow monitoring that ensures reliability even in harsh conditions. The solution offers scalable, accurate, and affordable monitoring, enhancing water resource management, flood risk mitigation, decrease in GHG emissions, and ecosystem health. It equips governments, water districts, and researchers with vital tools to support equitable and sustainable freshwater access by 2050.
